1. A dark, dark tale.J3

반전의 묘미가 있는 귀여운 동화책.

어두워서 무서운가 했더니 너무 귀여운 내용이다.

on the moor, there was a dark, dark wood.

A moor is an area of open and usually high land with poor soil that is covered mainly with grass and heather.

Up the stairs there was a dark, dark passage.

In the room was a dark, dark cupboard.

A cupboard is a piece of furniture that has one or two doors, usually contains shelves, and is used to store things.

3. Ten Little Rabbits J3 

아메리카 인디언을 나타낸 그림책인데 그림이 너무 귀엽다.

사실 내용은 아메리카 인디언을 잘모르는 입장에서는 지나치게 불친절하다.

실비아 롱sylvia long의 그림 덕에 좀더 집중하면서 읽었다.

맨끝에는 본 그림책에서 간단히 나타낸 10개의 인디언 부족을 설명하고 있다.

One lonely travveler riding on the plain

Six nimble runners fleeing from a storm

Seven merry mischief-makers playing hid-and-seek

Eight patient anglers fishing in a creek.

Nine festive drummers beating on a drum.

Ten sleepy weavers knowing day is done.

There's a cat with a pram.

And a fish in the sea, it is weary you see.

If you are weary, you are very tired.

The baby's asleep in the boat that's afloat, and is rocking on watery waves.

The three tired bears who were climbing the stairs, are tucked up in their beds until morning.

You are tucked up in bed, You'll soon be asleep.

If you tuck a child up in bed, you tuck them in.

If you tuck something somewhere, you put it there so that it is safe, comfortable, or neat.

 

5.The magic key

ORT의 꽃이라는 매직키 이야기. 별 기대는 안했는데 꽤나 재미있다. 

Magic tree house의 유아 버전이라고 할 수 있다. 

The box was by chip's bed.

벨트를 풀러서 드래곤 꼬리에 감는 모습

Gran took the children out.
The magic took the children inside the castle.

The king had a party. Everyone went to it.

The magic took them back to Biff's room.

 

10.village in the snow

The boy was pulling a toboggan

A toboggan is a light wooden board with a curved front, used for traveling down hills on snow or ice.

They pushed the little boy over.

If you push someone or something over, you push them so that they fall onto the ground.

They went on the toboggan아이들이 토보간을 타고 갔다.

 

11.The whatsit

It looks spooky.
A place that is spooky has a frightening atmosphere, and makes you feel that there are ghosts around.

The whatsit was a snooker table

You use whatsit instead of a noun or name which you cannot remember or which you do not want to say because it is rude.

Snooker is a game involving balls on a large table. The players use a long stick to hit a white ball, and score points by knocking colored balls into the pockets at the sides of the table.

The children put on a play.
You can wash up, then you can tidy up.

If you wash up, you wash the plates, cups, flatware, and pans that have been used for cooking and eating a meal.

When you tidy up or tidy a place up, you put things back in their proper places so that everything is neat.

Bits of us are vanishing.사라지는 크림을 바르고 몸의 일부가 사라져보이게된 상황.

14.It's Not fair

girls are as good as boys.

15.The Great Race

The car skidded on the oil.

If a vehicle skids, it slides sideways or forward while moving, for example,when you are trying to stop it suddenly on a wet road.

It crashed through the fence and went down the mountain.

If a moving vehicle crashes or if the driver crashes it, it hits something and is damaged or destroyed.

To move through something such as a hole, opening, or pipe means to move directly from one side or end of it to the other.

The Baron was behind. Gran was infront. 할머니가 앞서있었다.

The bridge broke. The Baron's car crashed down into the river.
